Enrique Perez currently serves as director of International Business for the Rancho Santiago Community College District. As director, Mr. Perez is responsible for the District’s international business programs, which include the Center for International Trade Development and the California-Mexico Trade Center. These programs focus on international business and economic development and provide business-consulting services to both California and Mexican companies looking to do business internationally and/or establish strategic alliances with government in the United States and/or Mexico. Mr. Perez also serves as Executive Director of the International Consortium of Education and Economic Development, which is an international organization of 65 community college members in the United States, Mexico and Canada focused on economic development and international education.

Mr. Perez has nearly 10 years of experience advising U.S. and Mexican companies in cross-border transactions and investment issues while working at such diverse places as Deloitte & Touche, the Mayor’s Office in the City of Los Angeles and City of Santa Ana, and now Rancho Santiago Community College District. Specifically, Mr. Perez has advised companies in connection with establishing international corporations, customs, tariff classification, antidumping laws, countervailing duties, rules of origin, and market entry strategies.

As director, Mr. Perez works with government agencies, elected officials, and business development organizations at the local, state and federal levels in the United States and Mexico in promoting economic development and international business. In California, Mr. Perez works with the Office of the Governor, members of the California Legislature, Chambers of Commerce, and local economic development offices on various business development projects. In Mexico, Mr. Perez works with the Mexican Congress, National Chambers of Commerce, Secretaries of Economic Development, and Nacional Financiera on specific projects and promoting international business. Mr. Perez is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars relating to California and Mexico business and political affairs, international business transactions, and international business law.

Mr. Perez is also very active in California and Mexico business and civic affairs. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County International Business and Protocol Foundation, the Latino Coalition in Washington D.C., and Nacional Financiera (Mexico’s largest development bank). Mr. Perez is a member of the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association. Mr. Perez has also had the honor of serving as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable William J. Bedsworth in the California Court of Appeal.

Mr. Perez received his Bachelors in Economics and Political Science and his Masters in Public Administration and International Relations from the University of Southern California. He received his Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School where he also served as an Editor of the Whittier Law Review.
