Enrique Perez 's photoBlaine Jensen


Blaine Jensen grew up on a cattle ranch on the edge of the Rocky Mountains west of Calgary, Alberta. Since his Cowboy days as a youth, he has lived in three countries and traveled four continents.

Blaine is currently the Vice President of Educational Services at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia and has worked in the College and University Student Affairs field for the past 20 years. As a student leader he was drawn to the possibility of creating a welcoming and engaging learning atmosphere for students. After completing a diploma in Broadcast Communications at Lethbridge Community College, in Southern Alberta, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications/Electronic Arts at Weber State University in Ogden Utah, then to Oregon State University to specialize in College Student Services Administration.

His career has taken him from small rural colleges to large universities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, and British Columbia. Mr. Jensen has served his profession in various leadership capacities. He was the founding President of the Alberta Residence Life Personnel of Alberta, the President of the Atlantic Association of College and University Student Services, a member of the Board of Canadian Association of College and University Student Services as well as several other professional groups. BJ is currently is the Chairperson for the Senior Student Affairs Leaders of British Columbia.

Blaine enjoys several personal pleasures including his lifelong love of the outdoors, horseback riding, and rodeo.
